Top 5 Wedding Hair Trends of 2013

2013 has been a year that has fallen in love with the past.  For all of us who love weddings this has been a year filled with the romance of the 1920s (thanks to Downtown Abbey), the free spirits of the Bohemian era, the glamor of the 1950s and the resurgence of braids.  Braids made their come back this year and we are happy to see them again.  So happy that the side braid has become a staple in our day-to-day lives here at DonegeeMedia.

1. The Downtown Abbey Inspired (loosely) Classics

The 1920-1930s has been a time of inspiration for many wedding designers and this look has carried out to bridal hairstyles. Largely inspired by the beautiful wedding this year staged in the BBC series, Downtown Abbey, we are seeing many brides choose a simple classic inspired hairstyle.

2. The Bohemian Fairy

The flower crown is a popular option for many brides this year. Any style from the large flower variety, to the simple hidden wild flower, many brides have fallen in love with the nostalgic bohemian aesthetic.

3. The Braided Up Do

Tie your knots with these braids. Another popular hair option is using braids as a beautiful detailed accent to many up & down hairstyles this year. They add a beautiful detailed accent that give a simple hair style that extra wow factor.

4. The down low on the low down side pony

If you thought the low down side pony couldn’t be elegant (I didn’t, at least) we were so very wrong. This style is beautiful and really low key. I think that is why so many this year are digging it.

5. Vintage 1950s

The 1950s are back, or at least in the romanticization of the 50s aesthetic. I love the cute little hair accessories, the adorable classic hair styles, even the wedding dresses (I almost bought a 50s style wedding dress for my own wedding, tbh)
